Reality TV star and internationally acclaimed hair stylist Tabatha Coffey will speak to cosmetology students at Pueblo Community College Monday evening. Tabatha hosts the show Tabatha Takes Over, now in its third season on the Bravo Network.
Beth Nipps, chair of the college's cosmetology department, says the visit is, "a chance of a lifetime for our students and the Pueblo community." "We are all very excited and honored that she will be appearing here," said Nipps

Firefighters in Pueblo suspect an early morning house fire on the east side was started by a transient person who had taken shelter inside. No one lived in the home in the 800 block of E. 5th Street, the utilities were shut off, and temperatures overnight were very cold.
Several searches of the home turned up empty. Nevertheless, Cpt. Robert Hudgens says his firefighters treat every fire as if someone were inside.

Fire crews are still putting out hot spots at a house fire on the east of Pueblo. The fire was reported at around 7:30 Friday morning at a home in the 800 block of East 5th Street.
Jose Trujillo, a neighbor, says the home had been vacant for several month. Firefighters say the house was empty and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Not all teachers start their careers in the classroom, and often that outside experience can prove invaluable.
Linda Kliesen has taught third grade at Sunset Park Elementary in Pueblo for 11 years but began her career as an operation manager for Montgomery Ward.
In fact, she says her husband was the teacher of the family. But there was something about his work that she wanted for herself.
"Everyday he would come home and he enjoyed what he did," she remembered.

COLORADO SPRINGS - If you hear a knock at the door this week, don't be surprised to see someone from the local PBS station standing on your porch. The public broadcaster has begun going door-to-door to try and increase membership in Colorado.
